Alwar (Rajasthan), August 09: A 16-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by criminals who forced her to drink some intoxicants in Alwar district in Rajasthan. They also videographed the whole incident and used it to blackmail the victim.  

 

The police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the accused. The minor Dalit girl, studying in class 10th class was on her way to school when some miscreants stopped her. They forced her to drink some drink laced with intoxicants and then raped her. They also took a video of the incident and used it to blackmail the girl. The alleged rapists were able to extort Rs 7.5 thousand from her by threatening to post the video on social media. They raped her thrice using the video to blackmail her.   

 

A case was filed a week ago by the victim's father who stated in the complaint that his daughter was raped in February, April and May this year. A case has been filed in Barodameo police station in Alwar district.

 

In the complaint filed by the victim's father, it has been stated that the victim was living in a hostel in Alwar district. Some neighbouring youths of the village kept pressurising the victim to be friends with them. On  February 2 2021, the accused asked the girl to be friends with them but she refused. The youth then forced her a drink a liquid that was laced with intoxicants. 

 

According to the victim's father, his daughter fainted after this. The alleged criminals then took her to the nearby fields in her unconscious state. There the accused raped her one by one. And also filmed the act. When the girl regaining consciousness, the youth told her to keep quiet or else they threatened to post the video of the rape on social media. Using the video, the accused continued to threaten the victim and rape her repeatedly. The alleged rapists also threatened to kill the victim and her family members, the complaint mentioned.

 

The police have identified Idu and Vijendra as two of the accused. Other accused have also been identified and police teams are on the lookout for them. 

It is noteworthy to mention here that according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) Rajasthan has reported the highest number of rapes in 2019 with a total of 1314 cases registered. Also, as many as 11 per cent of all rapes were of Dalit women and girls in 2019 as per NCRB report.
