Bhagalpur (Bihar), July 25: Bhagalpur special court sentenced an accused on Saturday for 20-years in prison for raping a six-year-old girl. Special Judge Anand Kumar Singh also fined the rapist ₹ five thousand rupees.
The special judge also directed the government to pay ₹ two lakh to the victim's family under the Government Help Scheme fund as financial compensation. Shankar Jaikishan Mandal was the public prosecutor in this case and the rapist was tried under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The six-year-old girl who

When the mother of the victim went to the terrace to dry her clothes she saw the accused raping her daughter. She raised an alarm and a case was filed. In her statement, the 6-year-old girl told police that both the brothers had raped her before also. They have threatened the girl to not tell anyone about it or they would throw her from the terrace. That is why the frightened girl had kept quiet, it was reported.
