Ahmedabad (Gujarat), August 28: Information on a heinous crime has
surfaced from Narmada district of Gujarat with a potential to create a political
storm in the state. Hiren Patel, a high ranking BJP leader from Narmada
district of Gujarat, has been accused of raping a 30-year-old Adivasi woman.
According to the police complaint, lodged by the woman, the
incident happened in the area under the jurisdiction of Tilakwada police
station of Gujarat’s Narmada district.
The accused, Hiren Patel, was BJP’s vice president from the district
before the case got registered. After these allegations were leveled against
the high-ranking leader, the party has suspended him.
The victim in her statement to the police, has accused Hiren Patel
of initially building a strong relationship with her. He used to tell her that
he was trying to get her a high-paying job and even promised of marrying her. She
also said that he would also pester her emotionally not to walk out of their
relationship.
In her complaint to the police, She further added that, in case she
married anyone else, the BJP leader had threatened to kill her to-be husband.
The survivor also said in her complaint, that the accused has captured
photographs and videos of her’s in compromising positions, and has threatened
to release them on social media.
Officials in Tilakwada police station while talking to Lifenews correspondent confirmed that the case has been filed and the police are yet to take any action in the case.
However,
it seems that the accused Hiren Patel has absconded. Speaking to Life News,
Narmada Superintendent of Police Himkar Singh said, "We have registered
the case. Our teams are out looking for the accused. We will arrest him once he
is found. Meanwhile, investigation in the case is going on"
