Surat (Gujarat), October 17: There is a
major furore in the whole of Gujarat after a case of abduction and rape of a
4-year-old girl has come to light. Belonging to a labour family, resident of Sachin
GIDC area of Surat, the girl suddenly disappeared while playing in front of
their house in the afternoon. When found the young girl was in a bloodied
condition, raped, maybe strangulated and left to die.
According to the police, the
4-year-old girl was playing outside her house when the accused took her away. Once
the family realized that she was missing, they started searching for her. After
not getting any leads about her whereabouts, the parents started inquiring people
nearby, this is when a child told, "An uncle has taken her".
As soon as the parents understood the
whole matter and its gravity, they immediately contacted the police.
The police swung into action as soon as
the news of the girl's disappearance was received. SP and SHO Jadeja, D Staff
and Sachin Police formed teams and started a campaign to find the girl. On
checking CCTV camera footage, an unidentified youth was seen carrying the girl.
Later a police officer said,
"After a search of around three hours, the girl was found in the bushes
and mud near Ginza Mill within Sachin GIDC, about three km from her home. When found she was in a bad condition, covered
in blood and with nail marks on her neck. She was immediately taken to a nearby
hospital. After the medical examination, it was confirmed that the girl was
raped and the nail marks on her neck suggest an attempt was also made by the
accused to strangle the girl to death. Presently the victim girl is still
undergoing treatment. Police have arrested the accused. He has been taken into
custody and the police are interrogating him."
