Bhavnagar (Gujarat), September 12:
Gujarat has been showing an increase in the number of cases of crime against
woman. One such case has been reported from the town of Palitana in Bhavnagar
district, where a 40-year-old woman has filed a complaint of rape against an
acquaintance.
The victim, a mother of four, was
raped by Rahul alias Gado Parmar who allegedly had drugged her before sexually assaulting
her. Parmar raped her in her home after she passed out. A day later she
regained consciousness and filed the complaint.
Parmar, a resident of Palitana's
Shakti Nagar, had gone to enquire about the woman's health at her residence. He
had also taken some medicines for relieving her of viral fever that she was
suffering from.
Parmar fled the scene after the heinous
incident. After the drugged woman did not wake up in the morning the next day,
her children alerted their neighbours.
According to police, the woman's husband was currently in jail in connection with a case of dacoity near Songadh in Bhavnagar.
