Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh), June 4: A 35-year-old woman was arrested for sexually exploiting a 16-year-old boy in Rajgarh in the central state of Madhya Pradesh in India. The incident was reported last Monday and the case is been registered in Rajgarh police station.

According to the police, the woman allegedly sexually exploited the minor. When the minor complained to her husband and in-laws, they instead threatened to implicate him in a rape case.

Rajgarh SP Pradeep Kumar Sharma said that the woman had twice sexually exploited the minor who lives in the same village. On May 27 when the husband of the accused and in-laws got to know about this they went to the victim's house and threatened his family.

Recounting the complaint, police said, the family of the accused demanded Rupees one lakh from the victim's family. They allegedly threatened that if they were not paid, the family would implicate the victim in a rape case.

The victim's family refused to pay the money. Angered, the woman's husband and his father cut all the papaya trees in the victim’s farm.

The victim got mentally disturbed and decided to call Rajgarh Child Helpline. Childline counsellor Manish Dangi counseled the boy and informed the police about the alleged sexual exploitation last Monday.

The whole incident has disturbed the minor mentally. He was scared and concerned about his family's reputation. This is the reason, he did not tell about the exploitation to anyone in his family, said the counsellor.

When the woman and her family members started harassing him and his family members he found the courage to contact the child helpline. We are counselling him now, Dangi said.

Police has arrested the woman, her husband, and her family members. Rajgarh Police arrest the woman under sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act and her husband and in-laws have been charged under sections 384 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
