(Maharashtra), September 12: Another dreadful incident has come to light from Daryapur
in Maharashtra’s Amravati, where a seventeen-year-old girl committed suicide by
hanging herself on Saturday. After her demise, it was ascertained that she was
seven months pregnant as a result of her being subjected to regular sexual
assaults by the accused.
She
took the extreme step to insulate her family from being shamed. The rape
survivor committed suicide by hanging herself at her own home when others in
the family were not around.
The
24-year-old accused has been arrested and sent on remand till September 15. Police
meanwhile have registered a case under relevant sections against the accused of
abetting the suicide of the minor girl and raping her.
As
per Dilip Patil, Police Sub-Inspector at Yevda thana, the complaint against the
man was registered yesterday for repeatedly raping the minor and impregnating
her.
