Sonipat
(Haryana), October 5: A case of kidnapping and attempt to rape a minor girl
has been reported from Haryana’s Sonipat. The accused, a teenager from Rohtak, has
been arrested by the police.
The
abducted minor girl has been recovered from captivity of the kidnapper by the
local police.
The
incident came to light when the victim’s maternal uncle informed police about
the missing victim and registered a complaint in a nearby police station. In
his complaint, he mentioned that his niece was living with his family at his
residence in a Sonipat village for the past one and half years. On May 12, she suddenly
went missing and he searched for her everywhere he could. He even enquired several
nearby relatives about the victim but sadly his search did not pay results and
as a last resort informed the police.
When
the police started investigating the case, several relatives raised suspicion
on a boy from Rohtak who might have kidnapped her. Tracking the mobile
location of the boy, the police nabbed the accused from Rohtak and rescued the
minor girl from his enslavement. They later handed her over to her family
members.
After
interrogation, they came to know that the accused had lured the teenage girl and
took her with him. The girl when spoken to by police, also complained that the accused
tried to rape her too.
The
police produced the culprit in the court and the accused is on police remand
for three days.
