Agra, April 4: A Dalit girl was gang raped by three men who forcefully abducted her in a village in Hathras in western Uttar Pradesh on March 29, Holi festival.


The girl was allegedly abducted on March 29, when she stepped out of home to relieve herself at around 2 pm. One of the accused allegedly covered the girl's nose and mouth with a piece of cloth. The teenager lost consciousness soon after the accused put the cloth on her nose and mouth. When she regained consciousness, the girl noticed that she was at the residence of the sister of another accused. The police have identified both the accused.

 

The accused dropped off the girl at her village the next day after repeatedly gang raping her the whole night. The teenager narrated the ordeal to her parents after reaching home, The Times of India reported.

 

The victim later told the media that police didn’t take any action adding that the police instead threatened to arrest her along with other members of her family if she opened her mouth against the accused.

 

The rape victim later approached Hathras SP Vineey Jaiswal, who assured to help her. The SP said that the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the SC/ST Act. The senior police official said in her initial statement, the teenager did not allege rape.
