June: A complaint was filed by the father of a minor girl accusing an older
woman of luring his daughter into a Lesbain relationship in Bokaro in the central
state of Jharkhand last Friday.
This first-of-its-kind
complaint has put the police in a quandary and they had to approach Child Helpline
to seek their help to properly deal with the complaint. According to the police,
a 17-year-old girl and the one accused, a 25-year-old woman are both from
the same community but live in different villages, both of which come under the
jurisdiction of Kasgar Police Station.
On Thursday, the minor
girl was missing from her house and when the parents looked for her, they found
her in the house of the older woman. Suspecting their relationship to be of a
sexual nature, the father of the minor girl filed a complaint at Kasgar Police
Station alleging that the older woman enticed his daughter by showing her pornographic
movies and then formed a sexual relationship with her.
The complaint also
said that the woman took the minor girl to stitching classes and that is how
they formed a bond. After the complaint was registered, the police handed over
the minor girl with her parents and the adult woman was asked to come to the
police station, She was made to sign a bond and was released later.
The child helpline
team was also called to the police station. The child helpline team tried to
make the girl understand that what she is doing was not right but she was not
convinced.
