Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), October 18: A
horrific incident was reported from the capital city of Uttar Pradesh when a
13-year-old minor who went to a dental clinic for treatment was allegedly raped
by the doctor. The accused has been arrested by police and produced in court on
Sunday.
The 13-year-old victim, a resident of Aminabad,
Lucknow, was having severe toothache so she went to Dr Ramkumar’s Clinic for three
consecutive days in Kaiserbagh, which is located near China Bazar Police Station.
Dr Ramkumar allegedly wanted to do an
RCT (Root Canal Treatment) on the girl's teeth. Late Saturday evening, the girl
and her father went to the clinic. The dentist took the girl with him inside his
cabin whereas the father of the victim stayed outside as the doctor asked him
to do so. Inside his cabin, he sexually assaulted the minor. The terrified girl
didn’t tell her father anything. After reaching home she shares her ordeal
with her mother.
The family of the victim registered a
complaint immediately against the accused in Kaiserbagh police station on
Saturday late night. The father of the victim also said that her daughter
was screaming and crying continuously but her father thought she was being
treated and she might be having pain due to the RCT.
The girl is in shock due to her ordeal
and her family is unable to believe that a dentist could do such a thing. The
dentist, according to the family, not only raped the daughter but also performed
other horrible acts with her.
Everybody who has heard of the senior
dentist's heinous act is appalled. The victim’s father demanded strict action
against the accused as he also shamed the medical profession.
According to Pramod Mishra, Inspector at
Kaiserbagh police station, the accused Dr Ramkumar was detained after a
complaint was filed under the provisions for rape and under the Protection of
Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. His clinic has been searched for
incriminating items also. Dr Ramkumar was presented before
the court and sent to judicial custody, according to the inspector soon after
his arrest.
Dr Ramkumar's clinic will be sealed and
his degrees will also be checked, said ACP Pankaj Srivastava.
