New Delhi, Oct 19:
Delhi police on Tuesday arrested a 65-year-old man for raping a 5-year old girl
in a public toilet in Kishan Ganj area of Central Delhi.
The police said that
a small girl was screaming in a public toilet located in Kishan Ganj. The neighbours
gathered there and broke the toilet door. Inside was an old man and a small girl.
The public thrashed the old man fiercely.
The girl told the
people who rescued her that she was playing with friends. The elderly man forcefully
dragged her and raped her by locking the door from inside the toilet. The
police arrested the 65-year-old accused.
Police got the victim
medically examined at RML Hospital after a case was registered for rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The victim’s
25-year-old mother told the police that she lives with the family in a rented
house in Kishan Ganj area, the police said.
The family consists of the father, mother, two sons and a daughter and the father of the victim works in a
private company.
His five-year-old daughter
was playing outside the house at around 5 pm on Saturday. After half an hour the
mother noticed that her daughter was not there so she started searching for the
girl.
Nearby the house, the
mother noticed a crowd gathered near the public toilet where her daughter was
also standing. The mob was beating an elderly man. People told him that the
elder man was sexually assaulting the girl.
When the woman asked
her daughter, she told that she was playing with her friends when the man
dragged her to the toilet. She said uncle slapped me several times. Hearing
her screams, people broke the door and rescued the girl.
Later the medical
examination of the victim confirmed the rape. The mother filed a complaint at the
police station and the victim was taken to RML Hospital for medical treatment.
