New Delhi, August 6: It seems the tag of “rape capital of
India” suits it more than ‘the capital’ of India. Recently, a shocking case has
come to light involving Delhi Police Policewoman who was allegedly raped, and
that too by a Policeman colleague.
A case of rape of a female constable in southern district
of Delhi Police has been reported. The Sub-Inspector posted in the special cell
is accused of raping a female constable and even recording her video. According
to police officials, the victim woman constable is posted at Hauz Khas police
station in southern district while the accused is posted in the special cell.
The woman constable has alleged that she was invited over
phone by Manoj, the accused, to meet him during emergency duty. On his
insistence, she accompanied him to a house in Munirka. There, Manoj mixed
intoxicants into her cold drink and raped her, while she was in an inebriated
state. Not only this, but the accused also made videos and clicked photos of her. Later
he used these to threaten and blackmailed her with the threat of posting them
online and making them viral.
Based on the complaint by the victim, Malviya Nagar police station has registered a case and has started investigations. However, the Sub-Inspector has was not yet been arrested.
According to police sources, the victim and the accused sub-inspector were earlier posted in the same police station.
South district police officials said that the matter is being investigated.
