Alwar (Rajasthan), October 17: Rajasthan Police have
arrested a school headmaster who is alleged of raping an 11-year-old girl in
Jhunjhunu. The victim is a class seven student of the school. The police have
also arrested two women teachers for helping in covering up the matter and
threatening the girl to hush up the crime.
After the incident was reported the District Collector has
suspended all the staff of the school till further orders. There were four
female and two male teachers in the school.
The incident has been reported to have occurred on October 5
in Singhna village. The accused school headmaster, Keshav Yadav (aged 31), asked
the victim to stay back in the school after classes. As instructed, the girl remained
in the school and sensing an opportunity the headmaster forced himself on the victim
and raped her. Later, he threatened the girl with dire consequences if she spoke
about it to anyone.
The girl got so scared that she didn't tell anyone about the
incident, but after nine days she mustered up the courage and narrated the whole
ordeal to her mother. The victim's mother rang up a child helpline number and
registered her complaint. On October 14 the child helpline team reached the
village and counseled the student after which the headmaster was arrested.
According to Singhna Police Inspector Bhajan Lal, during the
enquiry, many shocking facts came to the fore. The school headmaster used to
send vulgar messages to the victim regularly and also misbehaved with her, before
the incident. Also, after the incident the two lady teachers of the school
deleted the vulgar chat record from the victim's mobile.
The victim had showed these messages from the headmaster to the
women teachers who instead of helping the girl, smartly deleted the messages
and asked the student to not tell anyone about it. Following the revelations, the
police have also arrested these two women teachers. One of them, Sunila (30) is
resident of Swami sehi village and the other teacher Sumitra (51) is a resident
of Gada kheda village.
The rape accused received the post in 2020 and was staying
in a rented accommodation in the same village. Son of a retired teacher, many
from the accused’s family are in the teaching profession. His wife too is a
school teacher posted in another district, while his sister and brother-in-law
are lecturers in a government college.
Sensing the gravity of the matter, District Collector Umardeen
Khan and the Police Superintendent Manish Tripathi visited the school and the
victim’s home. They have assured the family all possible help in the
proceedings.
It is notable that just four days before this incident, a
teacher got caught doing an obscene act with his student in Bhilwara, where the
villagers thrashed the accused teacher.
