New Delhi, August 17: The Union home ministry on Thursday issued order announcing that the Nangal gang rape and murder case of a dalit minor girl as well as the Trilokpuri rape incident, again involving a Dalit minor girl, will be heard in fast track special courts in Delhi.

The ministry’s decision came after it reviewed the two cases with Delhi Police and felt that both the cases which occurred in the recent past in the national capital are fit for hearing by the fast track courts. The ministry felt that with the involvement of Fast Track Courts timely justice could be provided to the families of victims according to sources quoting the ministry order.

"The home ministry reviewed the rape and murder case of a girl child in Nangal area of Delhi and rape of a girl child in Mayur Vihar with @DelhiPolice," a home ministry spokesman tweeted.

"The Delhi Police is committed to file the charge sheet in the court within 30 days of the registration of the case, so that the trial of these cases can start at the earliest. Both the cases will be heard in fast track special courts in Delhi," the spokesperson said.

The Delhi Police's crime branch is probing the alleged gang rape and murder of a nine-year-old dalit girl in Old Nangal village of Delhi Cantonment.

The girl victim died under mysterious circumstances, with her parents alleging she was gang raped and forcibly cremated by a priest and 3 other employees of a crematorium. Police had earlier said based on the statement of the victim's mother, the charge of gang rape was added in the FIR. Four people, including the priest, have been arrested.

In the Trilokpuri case, again a six-year-old dalit girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 34-year-old man in her neighborhood, police had said. The family insists on the involvement of another accused, which they claim is being shielded by the Police.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Thursday issued a notice to the police seeking a detailed action taken report in the case. The panel said it has been informed that the girl was kidnapped and raped on August 11 when she had stepped outside her house to show her birthday gifts. The child was bleeding and has been referred to the AIIMS, it said.
