Katni (Madhya Pradesh) September 5: MP Police have arrested two men accused of gang rape of a minor in Katni. This incidence of sexual assault with the 15-year-old girl came to light thanks to a patrolling team, which found the victim in a disheveled state. The girl who was not able to even walk properly, was also quite drunk, the patrolling team said.

When the minor came back to her senses, she shared her ordeal with the local police officers. She has complained, that one of the accused offered her a lift on a bike to the railway station. Instead of taking her to the station, the accused took her to a warehouse, situated at the far end of an agricultural land. Here the accused, first made the victim consume alcohol, and then raped her with his partner.

Both the men accused of the gang rape, and now arrested, are watchmen of the warehouse.

SP Mayank Awasthi told that a team of Rangnath police station was patrolling at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday. The team found the girl with a man outside Mudwara station. The girl was not able to walk properly as though she was drunk. Sensing there was something amiss, the team members caught the two and during interrogation, the girl shared her ordeal.

When the team was taking the man accompanying the victim for interrogation, the other accused who was maintaining a distance, started running after seeing the police. The police chased and caught him as well. The two accused of the gang rape with the minor have been identified as Pradeep Tiwari, 32 years, resident of Vijay Raghavgarh area; and Ganesh Sharma, aged 30 years and a resident of Panna.

While investigating the case, police have learned that the minor lives with her maternal grandmother. On August 30, rather late in the night, after getting angry due to some dispute, the victim left home to go to the railway station. At around 12 o’clock in the night, the accused saw the victim near Jhinjhari. On the pretext of giving her a lift, the young man made the girl sit on the bike to drop her at the station.
