Jabalpur (Madhya
Pradesh), October 27: Madhya Pradesh Police is on a lookout for an accused who has
allegedly raped two sisters and later was blackmailing them. Both the real sisters
from Rewa are nursing students and both were subjected to the same modus
operandi of lacing their cold drink with intoxicants before sexually assaulting
them, with a four year time lag.
The accused,
Akash Chakraborty, is employed as a driver with a reputed Hotel in Jabalpur.
This is where the elder sister, who had enrolled herself in a nursing course,
also started working part-time in 2017. Since they were colleagues and also
stayed in the same locality of Salivada, they started interacting more often.
One day in 2017,
the driver offered the elder sister who used to in Salivada on rent, then aged
21 years, a cold drink – little did she knew it was laced with intoxicants. After
drinking the laced drink, the victim went into a semi-conscious stupor, was
easily overpowered and raped by the accused. He also made a video of the
heinous act and started blackmailing her into further sexual escapades but she
remained silent and submitted to his demands. This went on for four years.
Later in
2021, the younger sister of the victim, aged 17 years, also came to Jabalpur
from Rewa and she too enrolled herself in a Nursing Course. The accused again
served both the girls a laced drink. He didn’t abuse the elder one this time
but forced himself upon the younger and raped her. This time again he made a
video with his younger victim – who is still a minor. He again started sexually
exploiting the younger threatening her on making the video viral.
When both
the sisters came to know that they both were being blackmailed and exploited
they decided it was time the accused was booked. Both sisters then lodged two
separate FIRs in the women's police station.
According to
Shabana Parvez, in-charge of women's station, two FIRs have been registered
against the accused based on the complaint. On the complaint of the elder
sister, a case of assault, intimidation and rape has been registered. On the
complaint of the younger sister, sections of IPC, IT Act, including rape and
POCSO Act have been imposed against the accused.
The women's
police station has now transferred the case diary to Barela police station and
police teams are on a look out for the accused, who is still absconding.
