Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh), September 1: A 55 year-old-man,
suspecting his wife of infidelity, allegedly stitched her genitalia in Madhya
Pradesh’s Singrauli district, local police authorities said on Saturday.
The heinous crime took place in Raila village, which comes
under the jurisdiction of Mada police station, around 30 km from the district
headquarters. According to the complainant, the incident took place on August
24.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anil Sonkar said, “The
accused, who is a quack, suspected his 52-year-old wife of having an extramarital
affair with another man.”
In a fit of anger, the man has supposedly stitched his
wife’s private parts since he believed that his wife was having sexual
relationship with another man. The local officers said, “the victim was
admitted to the district hospital, where she underwent treatment for her
injuries.”
The middle-aged couple has children, who are married, as
per the complaint lodged. Police say that they are investigating the crime
from all angles and soon will file the charge sheet.
A case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324
(causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 498 (detaining with criminal
intent) and other relevant provisions of the IPC was registered at Bandhora
police post, according to ASP.
The man is absconding since the incident happened and couldn’t
be caught till last report. The police has launched a massive manhunt to catch
the accused.
