Kapada (Andhra Pradesh), August 4: Kadapa police on Sunday arrested a 23-year-old B. Tech dropout who lured and trapped nearly 300 women in sexual relationships, for blackmailing and extorting money from them.

C. Prasanna Kumar (23), hailing from Geethasathram street, Proddatur town in Andhra Pradesh state in India, who had discontinued his bachelor’s degree in engineering, allegedly trapped 200 young girls and 100 married women from Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Kadapa, said the police.

Prasanna Kumar got himself into various unlawful activities to lead a lavish life since 2017. He was first booked by the Proddatur II town and III town police in a chain snatching and a house break-in case in 2017. After being released on bail, he had begun luring unsuspecting women, whom he met on several social media platforms.

B. Sunil Kumar, DSP, said that accused C. Prasanna Kumar, going by different names such as Prashant Reddy, Tony, Raja Reddy would befriend girls and women on social media and entrap them.

No victim has lodged a complaint yet, Kadapa police instead has arrested Prasanna Kumar for an alleged job fraud case filed by Srinivas, registered in June this year. It was during interrogation that police came to know about his blackmailing of women after sexually exploiting them through photographs and videos of victims present in his cell phone. He confessed about trapping women and extorted money from them.

Police recovered Rs. 1.26 lakh cash and 30 grams of gold jewellery from the possession of the accused and appealed to the victims to lodge complaints against him.
