Boisar
(Maharashtra), September 14: An 12-year-old minor boy has been arrested and
sent to a remand home for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl in Boisar town of
Maharashtra’s Palghar district.
The
incident came into cognizance when the victim complained abdominal pain and the
parents took her to a hospital. The doctor who examined the girl informed them that
the victim was sexually assaulted, as the reason of her pain. Immediately, the parents
informed the police.
On
enquiry, the victim shared her ordeal and named a 12-year-old neighbour (a class
7th student) who lured her and took her to an isolated place on the terrace of
the residential building where they live and assaulted her sexually on Monday.
The
victim is currently undergoing medical treatment and the accused has been sent
to a remand home. Both the families of the children are natives of Bihar.
The boy confessed his crime and the police have detained the minor boy and a case has been registered against the 12-year-old accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a police official said on Tuesday.
