Jhansi (Uttar
Pradesh), October 14: A heinous crime has been reported from Uttar Pradesh's
Lalitpur, where a teenage girl has alleged that she was raped by 28 men,
including her father and some politicians. Reports are based on the complaint
filed by the minor on Tuesday, with the police.
The
17-year-old girl has complained that the alleged perpetrators have been
sexually assaulting her for several years. Members of the Bahujan Samaj Party
(BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP), including their district presidents, are also
among those accused by the minor.
Since the
time the minor who is studying in Class XI, made these allegations, there is a
major furore in the district’s administration, police and political circles.
Taking the matter seriously, the police officials have started investigations against
all the 28 accused including the father, SP District President Tilak Yadav and
BSP District President Deepak Ahirwar.
Based on the
complaint, an FIR has been registered at Lalitpur police station under sections
354 (assault of a woman), 376 D (gang rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt),
328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120 B
(party to criminal conspiracy) of IPC as well as sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO
Act.
According to
the FIR registered, the victim, when she was in Class 6, was forcibly shown
pornographic videos by her father, who had subsequently raped her in a field in
Maheshpura. After the incident, the father regularly began to take her to inns
where she was gang-raped by multiple men.
The victim
and her mother were also threatened with dire consequences if they told anything
about the incident to anyone, due to which she remained silent and continued to
be exploited for years. It is only subsequent to their meeting with the SP that a
lot of seriousness has been accorded to the matter.
"It is
a very rare and sensitive case and we are taking it seriously. The medical
examination of the victim has been performed and her statement has also been
recorded," the Lalitpur Superintendent of Police said.
Additional SP
Lalitpur, Girjesh Kumar said, “the matter is extremely sensitive, so we are
examining the accused based on the statement by the victim. In this case, a man
has broken the trust of his own daughter and wife. His acts have made the
entire family a laughing stock and added a black mark on the pious and clean
father-daughter relationship. We are handling this matter very seriously and
sensitively. As a part of the investigation, we have arrested the accused
father.”
We have not yet
arrested anyone else in this case. As soon as we receive the medical report, we
will start arresting the accused, he added.
However, disbelieving
the victim, the local BSP and Samajwadi Party members held a protest against
the conspiracy. They were blaming BJP over this conspiracy and are saying that BJP
wants to spoil their reputation and get benefited in the upcoming assembly
election.
Meanwhile,
Samajwadi Party leader Tilak Yadav, who has been named in the FIR, said that a
conspiracy had been hatched against him. “I will commit suicide if implicated;
this is a case of marital dispute. I will submit a memorandum to SP and
District Magistrate tomorrow seeking a fair probe. I have not even met the
student who made these allegations and it is a conspiracy designed to destroy me
and my family.” He demanded a fair probe into the matter.
While the BSP
District President Deepak Ahirwar while talking to media has blamed BJP categorically
for this and terming it as a fiasco said, “I do not know the girl, this is a
complete conspiracy, and the student has filed a complaint in the name of her father.
I have never met the girl and any of her relatives. This is a complete
conspiracy, a conspiracy of the people of Bhartiya Janata Party.”
