Nalanda/Bihar, May 5: Nalanda police launched a manhunt for an accused who is said to have sexually exploited and killed an eight-year-old girl. Police said that girl went out in search of her father as he didn't return home.

The incident took place last week Wednesday in an area which comes under Karayparshuray police limit.

Later, the father also began searching for his daughter as she was not found in the home. Next day the news broke that the girl was found lying dead on the railway tracks.

Villagers reached the railway tracks on finding the dead body of the victim and began demanding police action. The angry villagers blocked the Hilsa-Fatuha main road connecting to the highway.

Police officials after learning about the incident reach the spot, and met the agitating villagers to assure them that required action would be taken. The police registered a complaint and sent the body of the girl for postmortem to the local hospital.

The police station incharge Avdhesh Paswan said that the station master first informed him about the dead body which was found on railway tracks. He said that the injuries marks on the body of the girl indicated that she was forcibly sexually assaulted and then killed.
