Neighbours invite 14-year-old minor girl home and rape her in Mohali’s Laldu

Mohali (Punjab), September 10: A shockingly vulgar sexual crime has come to fore from Chandigarh’s suburban locale of Mohali, where a 14-year-old minor has been allegedly raped by a neighbour, while his spouse helped in the heinous crime.

The 14-year-old victim, a student of class seventh, was invited over by a couple in the neighbourhood to visit them at their home. While pleasantries were being exchanged, the couple ushered her to their bedroom. After a little while the wife excused herself and went out of the room followed by locking of the door by the man, who went to force himself and rape the minor.

The accused also allegedly recorded the whole indecent incident on his phone and threatened the victim to upload the video on social media, in case she shares her ordeal with anyone.

Based on the complaint filed by the survivor at the Laldu police station, the accused couple Rajesh Kumar and his wife Manisha, have been arrested. The police have registered a case against both of rape, conspiracy, death threats, under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Police have also started further investigation into the case.

While narrating the chronology of the incident which took place on 4^th September (Saturday) with her, the victim said the accused couple called the girl to their house around 1 p.m. in the afternoon. There the key accused Rajesh Kumar and his wife Manisha conspired against her, while he raped her inside the wife stayed on guard outside. When she tried to escape she found his wife outside where both the accused threatened her with murder if she informed the incident to the police or anyone else.

The girl also informed the police that Rajesh filmed the whole incident on his mobile phone. She was really scared and somehow managed to reach home where she narrated her ordeal to her mother.

Immediately the family informed the police and the couple was taken into custody.
