Katihar, Bihar, May 17: Police have arrested a youth and are on the lookout for another one for raping a minor girl in Katihar district of Bihar last week.


The incident occurred in Falka Police Station limit in Katihar District. Two youth kidnapped a minor girl and took her to their recording studio where they allegedly raped the girl, the police said. The victim's mother registered a complaint regarding the incident on May 12. 


Based on the complaint and investigation, Falka Police arrested the main accused Kaju Raj who owns the recording studio where the girl was allegedly raped. The police are on the lookout for the second accused in the case. 


The victim is from the Mahadalit community. After the incident came to light, the whole community in the village started agitating in front of the police station asking them to arrest the accused within 48 hours. Senior police officials assured the victim's parents that strict action will be taken against the accused to pacify the crowd. 


After registering the case, police sent the minor girl for a medical check-up. According to the girl’s statement, late on Tuesday late night, the girl and her mother went to answer nature's call near the lake which is close to her house. 


The two accused were passing by the same way. They forcefully took the girl with them. Her mother shouted and gathered people nearby but the accused managed to escape from the spot. 


On Thursday morning, the victim returned home and told her mother about her ordeal and what she underwent at the hands of the Kaju Raj, the owner of the recording studio, and his friend Nazir. They both forcefully took her to the recording studio where they raped her.
