Sikar (Rajasthan), June 16: A police constable has been arrested in a rape case in Sikar in Rajasthan state of India after a woman lodged a complaint against him on June 14.
The women in her complaint registered in Dadiya Police Station said that the accused police constable Sanjay (26) has raped her many times on the promise of marriage.
The complainant alleged that the constable sexually abused her, took money from her and blackmailed her. According to the victim's statement, Sanjay is a friend of her late elder brother. He used to visit her house often even after the death of her elder brother.
After the death of the victim's brother, the accused started showing her sympathy and winning her trust. After some time Sanjay started an intimate relationship with the victim promising her marriage. She also said that apart from having sex with her in her house, he also asked her to come to a hotel and his friend's place too. Sanjay also took the victim's photographs in compromising positions.
When the victim started building pressure on him for marriage Sanjay started avoiding her. He also threatened that he would upload her pictures on social media.
At last, the woman filed a complaint against the police constable. A case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) articles 323, 354, 376 (2)(N), 420, 406, 384, 504, 506 and 509 for rape, cheating and fraud.
Accused Sanjay is posted in Hukumpura Police Station, Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. Dadiya SHO Subhash Chandra registered the case and arrested the accused Sanjay.
Subhash Chandra said that they have recovered Sanjay's phone in which he had taken nude pictures of the victim.
