3: Pune police, on Wednesday, arrested six persons including two minors for
repeatedly raping a Dalit woman after the victim lodged a case in the Dehu Road
Police Station.
The police said that
the 20-year-old woman belonged to the Dalit community and was allegedly
in a relationship with one of the accused. The other five men were his friends
adding the accused man took the Dalit woman’s pictures and allegedly threatened
to circulate them.
“After threatening to
circulate her photos, all the six accused allegedly raped her on multiple
occasions at different places between January and May this year,” a
police official said.
The police said
that the rape survivor approached the police on Tuesday night and after a
preliminary probe, they filed an FIR.
“We have arrested the
four accused and detained two others, who are minors," police said.
All the six accused have been arrested under sections 342, 276 (1), 376 (5), 377, 323, 504, 506 and 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code, sections of the Information Technology Act and also sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
