Gandhinagar
(Gujarat), October 13: Illegitimate relationship of a woman outside marriage
not only led to the loss of her own life but also snatched away a mother's love
from an innocent ten months old infant.
Vadodara's
Heena alias Mehndi was killed by Sachin, who then dumped his own ten months old
baby boy near a Gaushala in Pethapur, Gandhinagar on Friday. It was the search
for the whereabouts of the family of the abandoned child that led police to solve
the case which had layers of illegitimate relationships, balancing time between
two women, children in both relationships and subsequent murder.
Gandhinagar
police on Monday produced Sachin Dixit, accused of murder and child
abandonment in the Heena murder and child ditcher case. The court sent Dixit to
police remand of three days, till Thursday. Dixit will then be transferred to
Vadodara where charges of murdering Heena, his girlfriend outside marriage will
be pressed upon him.
Post a medical
checkup, Sachin Dixit, the Gandhinagar resident and murder accused, who had a live-in
relationship with the victim Heena, was produced in Gandhinagar district & sessions
court for abandoning his ten months old boy Shivansh. The district judge JN Patel
sent Sachin on police remand till Thursday afternoon. The local crime branch
had asked for fourteen days remand.
Later,
Sachin will be taken to Vadodara on a transfer warrant where Vadodara police will
question him in relation to the murder of Heena.
According to
the police, Dixit after killing Heena by strangulation a couple of days ago in
Vadodara, had arrived in Gandhinagar on Friday with his ten months old son
Shivansh, whom he then left at the gates of Swaminarayan Gaushala (cattlepond)
around nine at night. The act had raised a huge public outrage and media
attention, making it a high-profile case.
After
scrutinizing CCTV footage, police successfully identified the vehicle which
the person who dumped the child was using. Then they checked in whose name the
vehicle was registered led them to Sachin. Later Gandhinagar’s Local Crime
Branch (LCB) traced Sachin in Rajasthan and brought him to Gandhinagar.
On
interrogation, it was revealed on Sunday that Sachin had strangulated Heena
some days ago and packed her corpse in a bag, leaving it in kitchen of the
apartment they both used to live in, in Vadodara. Sachin used to live there
during weekdays, while he used to come and stay with his legal wife and four
years old son in Gandhinagar during weekends.
According to
the police, Sachin said that Heena asked him to spend some extra time with her
instead of visiting his native place in UP, which he had planned later in the week.
Outraged and following an altercation, he murdered her. Later along with Shivansh he returned to Gandhinagar. After abandoning the child in Pethapur,
Sachin quickly returned to his other wife and house in Gandhinagar and then
left for Kota on Saturday morning from where he was later picked up by Gujarat
police.
Meanwhile,
the ten months old Shivansh is being taken care of by Child Protection home in
Odhav, Ahmedabad. The police are also in the process of matching the DNA
samples taken from Shivansh, Sachin and Heena.
Gujarat
minister of state for home, Harsh Sanghavi said on Saturday that there were
more than 190 requests pouring down from parents to the state police who wished
to adopt the abandoned child, while the search for his parents was still on.
