Rajgarh
(Madhya Pradesh), September 10: Madhya Pradesh Police in Rajgarh district said
on Sunday that they have booked a Principal of a government school for forcing
girl students to undress for not wearing their prescribed school uniforms.
The School
Principal is still absconding and the police was unable to arrest him till reports
last came in.
Earlier, three
girl students have filed a complaint with Machalpur police station accusing their
principal Radheshyam Malviya, 50, ordering them to undress for not wearing the
prescribed school uniforms and instructed them to come wearing the ‘proper uniforms’
next time onwards.
In their
complaint the girls said, that when queried on their appearance in school
without uniform, the girls said that their uniforms were not yet stitched as the school had just reopened, and assured the principal that they would be in proper
uniform starting Monday. However, the principal got very angry and ordered them
to take off their clothes.
In a video
that has gone viral on social media, the complainants can be heard saying that
the principal told them that such dresses were ‘spoiling’ the boys of the
class.
“After children
protested, we have booked Malviya on Saturday evening under Protection of
Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and IPC provisions for use of force
intended to dishonor, insult the modesty of woman by words, gesture etc,” said
Jitendra Ajnare, a local police official.
“We are
going to get the statement of the three girls recorded in a court on Monday. We
had gone to the principal’s home to arrest him but we couldn’t find him,” he
said.
A media
report said that district education officer BS Bisoriya assured that action
would be taken in the case after receiving all information from the block level
education officer.
