Ghaziabad, April 12: In a shocking
incident a 14-year-old boy having a speech impairment was arrested for
allegedly raping a two-year-old girl in Loni of Ghaziabad district in Uttar
Pradesh.
The rape victim is admitted at North Delhi’s GTB Hospital and undergoing treatment, police said while giving details of the incident that has shocked the area located on the borders of the national capital.
Unfolding the sequence of the incident the police said that the boy was playing with the baby on the roof of her house as her mother was engaged in household work on the floor below when boy allegedly raped her.
As the victim cried for help, the
girl's mother and grandfather rushed to the roof top. Seeing her parents the
boy abandoned the vicitim and ran away from the crime spot, police said adding
that the 14-year-old boy was taken into custody from nearby later.
In another incident, police in Ghaziabad’s Nandgram area, two men were arrested on the charges of raping a woman near the Hindon River metro station on Sunday. The woman was on her way back from a birthday party with her 13-year-old son when four people dragged her inside a vehicle, the police said.
Sharing the details of the incident the local police said that one of the accused allegedly raped the woman inside the vehicle while the other three stayed outside the vehicle to keep a watch on public movement.
DIG Amit Pathak said that police
took Asif and Shadab into their custody near the same metro station later.
The vehicle that was used in
the crime and a pistol along with one cartridge were also confiscated from
their possession, DIG Amit Pathak said adding that the other two accused will
also be soon tracked down and booked. The police have registered a case of rape
and abduction against the accused.
