Chennai (Tamil Nadu), June 14: A case has been registered against spiritual guru Sivashankar Baba for sexually abusing school students in Chennai. The case has been transferred to the Crime Branch to investigate the sexual harassment allegation against Sivashankar, who is said to be in a hospital.

Sivashankar, the founder of Sushil Hari International School in Kelambakkam in Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu, would bless devotees by dancing and claiming to be a spiritualist. Some teachers of Sushil Hari school have complained of sexual harassment on social media against Sivashankar.

The accused, Sivashankar, claims to be an incarnation of Lord Krishna. He reportedly told students, "If you had sex with me, you would get Moksh (salvation)". In the complaint, a former student said that Sivashankar indulged in hugging, kissing, and abusing students on the school premises. Also, some of the teachers who worked at the school were complicit in this. According to the complaint, the teachers told the students, "Sivashankar was Lord Krishna and anyone who has sex with him, they are his gopis (female companions of Krishna as per Indian mythology)".

Learning about this, Tamil Nadu Child Rights Protection Commission summoned Sivashankar to inquire into the complaint lodged by the alumni. Also, the summons were issued to the school in-charge Venkatraman, Sivasankar lawyer Nagaraj, school principal, and three teachers. Following this, those summoned appeared before the Child Rights Protection Commission on June 11.

But one Janaki appeared in place of Sivashankar. She said that Shivshankar Baba was admitted to a hospital in Dehradun on June 9 due to some heart problems.

Meanwhile, Mamallapuram police registered three cases against Sivashankar Baba under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the case was transferred to the Crime Branch Police.
