Chennai, August 16: An inhuman incident
of sexual crime has been reported from Tamil Nadu; three men belonging to the
same lineage raped a 7 year-old-minor girl in Chennai. The three accused are a 62
year-old-man, his 42 year-old-son, and 17 year-old-grandson. This horrific
incident took place on August 2 in Madipakkam locality of Chennai.
On Wednesday all
three accused were arrested by Chennai police for raping the 7-year-old girl.
After seeking permission
from her mother, the victim was taken to the house of one of the neighbour’s, since
the accused were known to the girl’s family. While the girl was sleeping, all
of them allegedly raped her.
Later, on knowing
about the incident, victim’s mother took her to a government hospital. After
her medical examination confirmed that the girl was raped by more than one man,
she reported the incident to Madipakkam’s all women police station. Based on
her complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under relevant
sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 376AB. They were
also booked under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences
(POCSO) Act.
Later all the
three were produced before the court. The 62-year-old man and his 42-year-old
son were sent to judicial custody, while the 17-year-old minor was sent to a
juvenile home for further hearings.
