Ahmedabad, April 23: Three persons gang raped and killed a 25-year-old mother of two on Saturday, April 17 after drugging her in Danilimda Police Station area in Ahmedabad, in the western state of Gujarat in India.

 

The woman was apparently on the lookout for a house to rent and the trio lured her with the promise to show her a house which she could rent. The woman of Nepali origin has moved with her husband and two children to Ahmedabad just over a month ago, said Police Inspector MM Lalivala of Danilimda Police Station where the case has been registered. The couple was daily wagers.

 

The woman’s body was located on Saturday and her husband traced the next day. He identified the body and it was sent for postmortem. The postmortem report revealed multiple rapes, injuries to head and her private parts which also led to her death. A case was registered on April 19. Police arrested all three of the accused and remanded them to police custody for interrogation.

 

Police have registered the case under gangrape, (under Indian Penal Code 376D), murder (IPC 302), Abducting (IPC 362) and conspiracy (IPC 120B), said the police.
