Ahmedabad
(Gujarat), September 6: A 22-year-old young man who is pursuing engineering degree
raped a 22-year-old woman undergoing air hostess training. On Thursday, the
victim filed a complaint against Ajit Trivedi, the accused, whom she had met
through a popular social media site Instagram seven months ago.
The trainee air
hostess has alleged in her complaint that, the first time he raped her after
offering her a cold drink spiked with sedatives. The survivor has also alleged
that the accused recorded a video of this heinous act and later used that recorded
clip to sexually assault her several times more.
The victim, a
resident of Vejalpur, said she came in the contact with the accused on
Instagram around seven months ago and after chatting for few months they both
exchanged their numbers and planned to meet. In April 2021, Ajit called her and
invited her over to his place where he offered her a soft drink laced with the
sedatives. It was after she had entered a semi-conscious stupor that the
accused raped her.
He recorded the
entire act on his cellphone. This is the video that he later used to blackmail
her, threatening to make it viral, and rape her often. Whenever she tried to
resist and save herself from another sexual assault, which happened many times,
he used to beat her up.
On the basis of
the complaint registered by the girl against the accused the police has arrested
the culprit from his residence.
