Hisar (Haryana)
September 14: Haryana police on Monday have filed a case against an uncle and a
father for raping his own daughter when she was still a minor in Karnal
district of Haryana. The sexual assaults occurred when the girl was
16-year-old.
Hisar police
has registered a zero FIR against a man and his brother for allegedly raping
his daughter eight years ago and sent the case to Karnal district police for
further investigation as the crime was committed there.
The case was
registered based on the complaint filed by the survivor against her father and
uncle, both residents of Karnal district for repeated rape, rape by guardian,
criminal intimidation and section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of
the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
As per the
complainant, the woman who was then 16 years old was raped her uncle, few days
later her father too raped her. The father did not stop after the first sexual
assault and repeated it again after some time.
While
sharing details of the crime, the victim said that she initially informed her
mother about the incident, but did not report the matter to the police as the father
assured them that he would never repeat the crime, and if a complaint was filed,
he would commit suicide by consuming poison.
Believing in
him, she had refrained in filing the complaint then.
