Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), September 15: A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) court in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday sentenced a culprit to twenty years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs. 30,000 for a rape case that took place in October last year.

The POCSO court sentenced Jogesh, the 23-year-old culprit, to rigorous imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old minor girl.

Jogesh, alias Jogan, was found guilty as accused for the rape of the minor girl. The incident had taken place on October 29 last year when the girl's parents had gone out of home for some work. The girl and her brother were at home, when the convict turned up there. He shunted out the boy and raped the girl.

The public prosecutor said in case of non-payment of fine, the convict will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 14 months.
