Srinagar (Rajasthan), June 3: A woman committed suicide om Srinagar in the Western State of Rajasthan in India, after accusing a police constable of raping her repeatedly. She left a recorded video message before jumping into the lake.
In the video message, the woman has alleged that Police Constable Maniram Chauhan working in Matili Rathan Police Station had raped her repeatedly and used to blackmail her.
After the video went viral, higher officials from the police department decided to take action. The SP Rajan Dushyant ordered to register the case against the accused Mani Ram and suspended him.
Departmental inquiry is going on against the police constable. It is said that the accused constable is absconding. The woman is reported to be the mother of three kids. She was staying in Srinagar in Kesri Singhpur village.
A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against the police constable. According to the police, Mani Ram was troubling the woman for a long time, which is the reason she ended her life.
Also in her video message, the woman said sorry to her parents for leaving them like this. I am fed up with my life and the reason for this is Police Constable Maniram.
After seeing the video, the DSP of Karanpur, Surendra Singh Rathore reached the spot. The body was recovered from the lake and sent for postmortem. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family of the deceased.
Notably, the video was sent to the accused constable also. Since then he is absconding. The constable is suspended after the complaint was registered. The police is inquiring with the family members and is on the hunt for Maniram
