Pilibhit
(Uttar Pradesh), October 31: An incident of sexual assault has been reported
from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit, where two men allegedly gang raped a girl on the
pretext of interviewing the victim for a job. The victim alleges that they had
called her to a guest house for an interview and then gang raped her on gun
point.
Based on a
complaint filed by the victim, who is an ITI student, the police have
registered a case against the accused who are residents of village Patrasa Kunwarpur
which comes under the jurisdiction of Barkheda police station.
According to
the complainant, on October 14 Raju Rana and Ravi Verma, natives of village
Patarasa Kunwarpur approached the victim on pretext of interviewing her for a job
opportunity and called her to a guest house located at Naugawa crossroads in
the city. Initially the victim did not tell anybody about the incident.
However, the victim a resident of Jehanabad police station area, said that
after this incident the duo continued to call her every day. At their continued
harassment, she shared her ordeal with her family and later filed a report.
According to
Inspector KK Verma, on Saturday evening Jehanabad Police initiated an inquiry
by filing a report under sections 420,376, 342,506 against the identified
suspects Raju Rana and Ravi Verma. The accused duo will be detained as soon as
possible according to the police.
