Muzaffarnagar (UP), August 5: An opprobrious case
has come to the fore in Muzaffarnagar, UP. A young man raped a 5-year-old girl
with the lure of candies. This horrible incident took place in the town of
Charthaval, Muzaffarnagar. Anger erupts amongst the locals after information
spreads about the incident.
On Wednesday
(04.08.2021) at around 2:00 pm, a 5-year-old girl from Charthaval town had gone
to the nearest grocery shop to buy something. A young man who was already there
lured her with toffees and took her to a religious place nearby, which usually
is secluded during the afternoon. The accused also had a key to one of the rooms.
He pulled her into the room and raped her. He fled from the spot as the girl
started screaming.
Police later registered
a case against the accused Uvesh based on the complaint filed by the victim’s
father and made efforts to nab the culprit. To create pressure, the police took
Yogesh, the brother of the accused into custody.
Later Uvesh was
arrested and the police sent the accused to jail. Locals are angry about the
heinous incident. The police have also sent the girl for medical examination.
A case under
section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as under the provisions of
the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was lodged against
accused Uvesh, who is in custody, police said.
